Revlon Moon Candy, 290 Universe and 220 Milky Way

I think I expect more for $15 a pop. The base colour was hard to work. A little blobby and a brush that was insistent on painting my cuticles instead of the nail. Failure to flatten?

The base colour, streaky and dried too quickly. I had visible 3D brushstrokes on the second coat. On the Milky Way I did only one coat. Mistake. When I applied the glitter coat it began melting the colour coat and I soon had a grey slurry as I attempted to coat my entire nail and have even spread with the glitter. I got a bald patch in the centre of the nail.

The MW glitter is too chunky for my liking, as in it is cut up from quite thick plastic sheets and you can actually feel protruding sharp edges. Top coat is required.

However, Universe is quite nice. A dark raisin base with red and green toned flakes.

MW is a navy/grey depending your light source, with silver holo shreds.

Oooo Revlon Moon Candy

$15 big bucks at Target.

Mode - Party Girl 10631

Mode is a cheapy you can get in chemists and I have thought many times ok this stuff is going to be the most dubious of the dubious... However, I got this one which is a very pretty straight out dark turquoise with a shimmer. It's interesting to see that there is a mix of made in Australia, China and UAE. That's correct. UAE - Arabia. For all the Mode ones I've got I picked out Aus and UAE because I have found all my China polishes seem to chip the next day.

This one is made in Aus and I was really surprised. It was extremely easy to paint, had really good even pigment and dried to a semi matte finish which was quite pretty. It then lasted really well. I decided to go without a top coat to preserve the finish. I was really pleased with the colour. Can't wait to try out the other Mode colours I got to test out whether there are formula differences due to being made in different countries.

PS the shimmer is barely visible.
